Privacy Notice for Carroll County

This Privacy Notice explains what Carroll County Busted Mugshots receives when people use the pages, search tools, and contact routes, how the information is used, and when it may be shared. The pages link to outside records such as the CCSO jail report and Georgia DOC offender search. Those agencies and services have their own privacy rules.

Information You Send

Search terms

A name, location, or other term entered into a sponsored search tool is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Carroll County Busted Mugshots does not store or log those search terms on its own servers. The provider's terms and privacy notice govern its handling after the request leaves the page.

Messages and submissions

If someone sends an email or submits a contact message, the message and reply address are retained long enough to respond, maintain a communication record, and address a legitimate follow-up. They are not shared outside the organization unless a legal duty requires disclosure or a service provider must help deliver the reply.

Technical Data Collected Automatically

Like most public web pages, the server and analytics tools may receive basic technical details when a page loads.

  • IP address or a shortened network identifier.
  • Browser name, version, and language settings.
  • Device type and operating system.
  • Pages viewed and the time spent on each page.
  • The referring page, when a browser supplies it.
  • Request timestamps and basic error information.

Cookies and similar tools

Cookies may help measure page use, remember a setting, support a sponsored search tool, or understand whether a page is working. A browser can block or delete cookies. Some features may behave differently when they are blocked.

How Information Is Used

Information is used for ordinary operation of the reference pages and their supporting services.

  • Keep the pages available, secure, and reasonably fast.
  • Send a search request to the partner service selected by the visitor.
  • Learn which topics, such as the county open-records route, are useful to readers.
  • Find broken links, display errors, and other technical faults.
  • Show advertising that may be related to general interests.

Links to Other Services

The pages link to jail reports, police records portals, sheriff and corrections pages, court systems, federal locators, newspapers, and outside search tools. Once a visitor clicks to the Carroll County Clerk, CCSO, GDC, BOP, or another service, that service's own privacy notice controls.

Advertising and search partners may use their own cookies or similar tools and may observe activity across sites on their systems. That tracking is governed by the partner's policy, not by the local reference pages.

Who May Receive Data

Personal data is not sold as a stand-alone list by this project. It may be available to the following parties when needed for operation or required by law.

  • Search partners that receive the terms entered into their search form.
  • Analytics providers that report page and technical use.
  • Advertising networks and their service providers.
  • Law-enforcement or government bodies responding to a valid legal order or other lawful demand.

Security Practices

Reasonable technical and administrative safeguards are used for information held by the project. No internet-connected system is completely secure, so no promise is made that a transmission, account, or stored message will be breach-proof. Visitors should avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information through a public form.

Visitors Under 18

The pages are intended for adults. The project does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor sends personal information, a parent or guardian may use the Contact Us page to request deletion of that message.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable limits, a person may ask what personal information is held about them and request a correction or deletion.

  • Ask for a copy of personal data held by the project.
  • Point out inaccurate contact information or message details.
  • Request deletion of a message or other data that can be removed.
  • Ask to opt out of a processing use when the project offers that choice.

Requests should identify the relevant message or address without including another person's jail or court information.

Changes to This Notice

This notice may be revised when the pages, search partners, analytics tools, or legal requirements change. The updated wording will be posted here with a new effective date or other clear update marker. Continued use after an update means the revised notice applies to future use.
